Yeah, that's the one. You already know I was a paratrooper and a medic. My company made four combat jumps and I was there for all of them — it was a big deal then, but I bet that seems really silly in your day.
Not really. Helljumpers drop in pods. We're protected by thick metal plating. [ Not invulnerable, but protected. ] No sense of height until you're near planet's surface.
Dropping without pod would be fucking terrifying.

Don't think I'd've done too well in a tight spot like that, no way of orienting yourself on the outside world. To be honest, even the worst drops we did I still remember everything so clearly — more exhilarated than scared. Feel like I'd lose some of that if I was just falling in anticipation.

Pods have a few windows. Narrow. Enough to see possible threats. Can't risk coming out blind, running into enemy.
